Tonight our church is throwing a Valentine’s Day Dinner and Dance. I drew a lucky straw and was put on the planning team; okay, I wanted it to happen so I took the initiative and jumped on board the planning committee train.
The dance is scheduled to be a semi-formal, hosted at The Eagles in our own and catered by Mingo’s. I had every intention of wearing my beautiful purple dress I had worn earlier this year for as a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding, however I tried it on...and this pregnant mama was not fitting! I headed out to Walmart and Target and found two beautiful pieces to wear.
For my dress, I bought a Liz Lange dress you can find here. As you can tell from my lovely photos below, it hangs much longer on my short body, however that’s what I was aiming for! I prefer longer skirts and more covered.
I bought my jewelry set at Walmart from the Valentine’s Day section-I’m assuming it was meant to be a present. We went on the look for a large red statement piece and couldn’t find any at our local mall, so my sister suggested Walmart and I actually almost bought two because I thought they were so cute. I don’t wear chunky necklaces often, however, so I settled on just this one!
The hair was done by my sister, Catherine, who also went shopping with Bug and I to find the dress. It was inspired by this video! I love Chelsea’s looks at Hey There, Chelsea! The hair took us longer than 15 minutes, however I have impossibly thick and long hair and I’m a mom running after kids every time one cries, so I always double how long it would take anyone else! My make up was done by Cat as well-the joy of having a sister who does this jazz for me!
I’m no fashion or style blogger by any means, but for all the other pregnant ladies out there who need to look nice for a night(and I mean need to for yourselves; looking gorgeous in pregnancy makes you feel wonderful!), this is what I wore!
