Pumpkin Carving(&Two Seed Recipes!)

Oh happy Sunday! Last week I shared with y’all our trip to the pumpkin patch. Did you expect to miss out on what we did with the pumpkins?

Because our halloweekend has been insanely busy( I’ll put up a five for Friday HALLOWEEN style next week…for now you just have to believe me), Saturday night before a Monday Halloween was the first chance we got to carve our pumpkins.
Now I’m not about to pretend like I am a pumpkin carving expert. Somehow, in the 18 years of carving with my parents and three years with these kiddos…my pumpkins still look like a five year old was given a sharp knife and told to make it look like a jack o lantern.
But I try, so that’s okay, right?

Because, let’s be real here, the most important part about pumpkin carving is the amazing gift that comes from within the pumpkin. That’s right, the pumpkin seeds. As a basic mama, I should like pumpkin spice, but as I explained it’s not my jam. But I’m a pumpkin seed fanatic! Any seeds have my heart, but pumpkin seeds are my absolute favorite.  I have found it’s a total plus to have small children you can bribe with chocolate to take care of your seed and guts separating. No shame in my bribery game!

I figured I’d share my recipe for pumpkin seeds, because they are delicious.

First, my Pumpkin Pancake Pumpkin seeds. These are amazing.

Guys, oh my gosh. These candied seeds are delicious. I had to put them away because I kept eating them! They’re kind of hard to take off the foil, but it’s so worth it.
My Spicy Garlic pumpkin seeds are delicious as well and super easy. All you do is mix everything in a bowl then put on a baking sheet.

These are as spicy as you make them with the cayenne pepper! I thought they were delicious with a little extra personally.

How do you make your pumpkin seeds?
